Cantina Laredo

We had another great dinner last night!  Everyone needs a girl's night right?  I sure do!  It is such a nice break to get out with my girlfriends and just chit chat, smile, laugh, and enjoy each other.  We went to Cantina Laredo and ate mexican food....and of course enjoyed starbucks afterwards.

Florida Post #2

More Florida Pictures!!

Brian stealing kisses from Sutton!

Parents with small children...please look at the cute backpack leash contraption on Sutton's back.  This backpack harness leash thingy was a life savor for us!  We purchased it at Walmart.  If you have a very active, sneaky, runner (no walking what so ever), independent, "I want to be a big boy and walk all by myself or I will throw fits!" type of child, you need to own one of these!  I think we paid $10 dollars for it and I would have paid $100 dollars!!  Works like a charm.

The Kirkpatrick's

Avery and I at McGuire's Irish Pub (our favorite eat of the week!)

This sweet old pirate made balloon swords for the boys.  Avery REFUSED to get his picture taken with him.  As a matter of fact, he wouldn't get close to him at all.  On the other hand, Sutton, as you can see keeps poking the pirate in the head with his sword and laughing about it!

Something else nice about the backpack is that you can just unhook the leash part whenever you want.  When we would leave to go somewhere, Sutton would come up to me and back up for me to hook the leash on.  It was pretty entertaining.  The only thing that I wasn't crazy about was all the looks we got...???~  I'm really not sure if people thought I was crazy or Sutton was crazy....or maybe they were wishing they had one for their crazy kids.....who knows!!!

Florida Part 1

Our Florida vacation has come to an end for this year.  It was fun, relaxing, hard work, and exhausting at times!  Everything a vacation is for a mommy of 2 little ones!  Well worth it though...can't wait to do it again!  We went with the Kirkpatrick's to Okaloosa Island.  The weather was better than it's ever been for us.  It was about 85 degrees the entire week.  I don't think I even broke a sweat.  The water was more beautiful than I remember it.  We were able to get on the beach and swim in the pool every single day.  We ate at some new restaurants we have never tried.  We also went to the Village of Baytowne Wharf which was really neat.  We watched fire works one night and went crab hunting.  We did our usual and went to Destin Commons and The Bass Pro.  The kids did well....a few melt downs here and there, but overall, way better than we expected!!

Paddle ball!

We enjoyed a live band and fireworks at Harborwalk Village.  Sutton is all about music and dancing!  He would grab my hands and literally pull me out in the middle of everyone wanting me to dance with him and spin him around.  He had fun!

Brian and Jeff spent A LOT of time boogie boarding!

Lots more pictures to come!!

Lake Erling in June

We were at Lake Erling this weekend visiting with my dad and grandparents (Mimi & Grandad).  June Bug was also there for the fun.  We fished, played, swam in the hot tub and plastic pool of course, Avery rode his bike and caught a fish, dad grilled yummy steaks, and Brian helped around with some honey doo's  Mimi doo's :)  Oh...and we were a little crafty on Sunday.  Brian made some fishing lures and June Bug, Mimi, and myself made some jewelry!

This is the view that my grandparents have from their porch....it's just amazing.  I could totally wake up and go to bed looking at the water everyday!  I am so happy that they get to enjoy this amazing view!

Avery really surprised me with how long he stuck with fishing this go a round.  He is only 4, so sitting and fishing for any length of time doesn't really happen much.  But, this weekend, he was pretty patient and sat down at the dock with his dad for a good while holding his fishing pole.  I was pretty proud of him and how well he did.

Girl's Dinner

Summer has just begun and we had our first girls night out!  These are all my friends first and fellow kindergarten teachers second....I love each and everyone of these ladies.  They are my family away from family.  I can't wait for our next night out!  We went to Ya Ya's and it was YUMMY.

I totally forgot to take my camera so these are the best I can do with the phone pics!  I have missed this girl like crazy...we started our teaching career together 8 years ago!

We had to have some fun shopping of course and then ended the night with Starbucks.  Nice, relaxing, fun evening.....and we laughed till we cried!!
