24 Days of Thanksgiving

After 14 days in ICU and 10 more days in a regular hospital room....my mom is going HOME! Whew Hew! She was discharged by all of her doctors today and will make the trip back to DeQueen tomorrow. She has come so far in the past week that it is really unbelievable. All of the prayers that have been sent up by family, friends, and kind strangers have been heard and answered. A fall from her deer stand left her with a collapsed lung, staples in her head, a lacerated liver, 6 broken ribs, and broken pelvis. She went through a 5 hour reconstructive surgery on her pelvic bone, 12 days on a ventilator, 4 days with a trach, and she has pulled through it all with a smile and positive attitude. God is truly amazing and has changed all of our lives and especially my Mom's. He has blessed us beyond words. He has a bigger and better plan for my mom and she is ready to serve! She is so thankful to be alive and well. Here are just a few pictures of the past week at the hospital....also, I was able to spend Thanksgiving day with my husband, kids, and in-laws.

Mumu and her favorite little guy... My sister has been so strong over the past 24 days. I'm so thankful that I have her.

Sutton chowing down on some Thanksgiving grub.

Cacky and Avery looking at toys!

Everyone checking out all of the sales that were coming on that Black Friday.

Having some fun at the hospital......yes...it's possible!

Robert, Lindsey, and myself have taken turns pampering my mom in anyway we could....washing her hair had to be one of her favorites!

I took my kiddo's up whenever I could so that my mom could watch them get into all kinds of cool stuff....taking a 14 month old to a hospital room is very interesting....way 2 much to mess with! Especially Sutton Henry.....he wants to know everything about everything!

My mom and her wonderful husband Robert.

I love my mom so much. This experience has changed all of our lives in so many ways. She has had so many people praying for her, visiting her, sending cards, and making phone calls. People are so kind. She does have a lot of work ahead of her.....she will be in a wheelchair and unable to bare weight on her legs for about 12 weeks...But we are all just tickled that she is alive & well. She has a very positive attitude and outlook on her whole situation. She is not paralyzed and will be able to walk when she heals...what more could you ask for....she is a fighter...and I do believe the strongest person I have ever known. Can't wait to get you home Momma!

Mom

I have been reminded how life can change in the blink of an eye. My heart breaks for all of the suffering my mom is going through right now...but at the same time, I'm so thankful that she is still here and fighting to get better. Please keep my mom and family in your prayers. She was in a hunting accident on November 5th and she is fighting daily to get stronger. This picture is of my mom and sister's hand. Our mom has been our rock and strength all of our lives. It's our turn to be hers.

Part #2

So....Halloween was the best it's been thus far! We started off with a project at home before heading to the Young's house for some chili and some good old door to door trick or treating. (Yes, I brought the teacher out in me doing a little project with my kids...) I know....cheesy....but I can totally be cheesy.

Tradition for us is hanging out with the Young's, eating, visiting, and of course trick or treating!!

Ava and Avery getting some candy.

We met up with the Martin's like always and checked out all the costumes!

Me, Avery, Colt, and Lendsi

This has got to be my favorite picture from this year!! Look at this child's face when he received some milk duds....He is just so excited to be trick or treating. Watching all the kids was super fun.

Avery, Connor, and Colt

This chicken little was fried by the end of the night....he was a trooper and just hung out in his stroller.

Hope everyone enjoyed their kiddos this Halloween!!
