Motley's Pumpkin Patch

We have never been to Motley's Pumpkin Patch before until today. It is in the Landmark area and well worth going! They have hay rides, cow train rides, a playground, an animal farm, pumpkin patch, gift shop, AND pig races! There were tons of fun stuff for us to get into! We all had a great time. If your looking for a pumpkin patch to go to, I highly recommend this one. We found the perfect pumpkin to take home!

It's That Time Again

Deer season is here....anyone that has hunter's in their family know that this time of year is like bigger than birthdays, Thanksgiving, or Christmas for some! My husband is so passionate about hunting. He hunts it all from turkey to deer to prairie dogs! This is his time of year! I actually get pretty excited for him because he loves it SO much...I'm always in hopes that he gets that BIG buck. Avery is into anything his Daddy is into. So of course, he is all about deer hunting! He had his toy rifle in the back yard today and I couldn't help grab my camera.

Nana and Poppa came up for a visit. We had a great time!

Crafty DaY

Ok...so I LOVE reading the Slaughter's Blog. Angela S. made a post on scrap wood pumpkins a few days ago. I loved the idea and since I am NOT a crafty person, decided to give it a go! lol
Like Angela, I wanted to spend $0 dollars on this project. So, when Brian got home from work, I told him what I wanted to do and he took me out to his shop and we came across an old light pole. I immediately new this would work! Brian got his chain saw and cut me some various sizes. Then he found a piece of wood he cut up small for my stems. I said earlier that I am NOT crafty, so I didn't have any sand paper or ribbon or orange paint! What was I to do...well, I did have some yellow paint left over from painting my living room and some red left over from the kitchen, so I started mixing!! Came up with a color that I have no idea what you would call it, but it dried pretty and works! Avery got to make his own scrap wood pumpkin today also. Then we planted some flowers! Fun Day and thanks for the great idea Angela! She actually got the idea from Crafty Chic Mommy's blog....you can go to either blog to see their scrap wood pumpkins. :)

Here are their stems I painted brown....Brian walked into the kitchen that night and I heard him say "brownies!"...no honey....pumpkin stems!!

Sutton hung out with us and watched...

Sutton still watching.....he's such a patient good baby!

Proud Mommy

I am one proud Momma! Little Sutton started sleeping through the night last night! Yay....so excited! I think it is so important that a child gets the rest they need. I'm happy that Sutton is resting the number of hours he should be.....and have I mentioned what a great big brother Avery is being. I'm pretty sure I have, but I'll say it again...Avery is doing GREAT! He loves Sutton like he has been here all along. He protects him, comforts him when he cries, and loves on him ALL the time.

We are LOVING this fall weather!

What can you say....like father like son!
This morning Avery took cupcakes to preschool and wore his birthday shirt. I picked him up and we headed to the park for a nice walk. He had a great day. Brian fixed his favorite for dinner....spaghetti...then he got to blow out more candles with me, Dad, and Sutton! I believe he had a wonderful birthday. I took a few pictures of my boys this morning. :) Avery LOVES his brother!
